With the installation of a new bathroom vanity and counter top the looks of an old and out-of-date bathroom can be transformed drastically. Its installation is not very difficult and you can get it from any of the home improvement store with in a price range of $500.

For installing the new vanity, you first need to remove the old vanity and counter top. For this, first turn off the water supplies under the vanity. Next disconnect the supply lines at the valves and then disconnect the drain pipe at the trap. Now remove the corner screws that are securing the top of the old vanity to the counter top. The counter top should then be able to be lifted off of the old vanity.

After the counter top has been separated from the vanity, remove the faucet hardware if you plan on reusing the existing faucet. Make sure, however, when purchasing your new vanity counter top that it will support the faucet configuration.

After the counter top and faucet have been removed from the work area, unscrew the back and/or side screws that hold the vanity to the walls. Then remove the vanity from the bathroom.

Slide the new vanity into the location where the previous vanity resided. You will probably need to cut away a portion of the back of the new vanity to allow the supply lines and drainage pipe to slide through. A jig saw works fine for this effort. Just make a couple of pilot holes with a drill and then use the jig saw to cut out the appropriate area.

Once you have made the required cut in new vanity, you can fix it on walls. Before fixing, check weather the level of vanity is appropriate or not and also check if it is able to adjust in the available space or not. Now tight all the screws and properly fix the vanity on the wall. Now start the installation of the new counter top.

It is always advised to attach the faucets to the counter top before placing it over the vanity. After fixing the faucet, supply lines and drain pipe to the counter top, you can place it over the vanity.

Place the counter top on top of the vanity making sure it sits square. Use screws to secure the vanity to the counter top. Make sure, however, that you use screws that will not penetrate through the top of the vanity. Finally, connect the drain pipe and supply line. Turn on the water supply to check and you are done.
