Ceiling fans come in wide variety of shapes and sizes. One more feature that helps to differentiate ceiling fans is to add lighting at the bottom of the fan. Here we will discuss the lighting options available for most of the ceiling fans. The types of light that can be added are Aurora, Chandelier, Spotlights, and Low profile light.
Aurora style lighting forms one of the broadest lighting category. It is generally large and in this a single light is used at the bottom of fan. Its light is quite strong and sufficient for lighting a room effectively.
It comes in different styles like it can have crystal look, it can be plain or just appear like a circular light at the base of a fan, it can also have a paneled look in which it has appearance of a geometrical shape.
The Chandelier type is very different from Aurora style. Chandelier usually has two, four or more lights that form a set of lights. These lights are covered by a glass in a flower like pattern and give somewhat focused light but not as focused as a Spotlight. These lights are generally used to decorate the living room or dinning room.
Spotlight also have a set of lights similar to Chandelier light but the difference come in focus of light. Spotlight generates completely focused light for a area.
These lights generally have a cylindrical shape and are used in offices or conference rooms to provide focused light. They can also be used to highlight a table, person or any other elegant thing.
Low profile lights are round in shape, produce low lighting and used where fan is not noticed. These lights are usually so simple that they can be used outside easily since there is not a concern that they will become messed up.
Usually people don’t have a light on their ceiling fan, but once they see such a fan or use it for a while they might develop a desire of having such fan. But what to do if they already have a simple ceiling fan? In that case they can purchase a light kit and fix it to the old fan only.
